I’m an independent journalist currently based in Dubai, and a project manager for Tamayouz Excellence Award. I was previously the editor of Middle East Architect, Brownbook, Commercial Interior Design and associate editor of Curve magazine in Beirut.
I’ve recently parted from a full time editorship to work on several projects. You can see some of my latest work in Architectural Digest Middle East and Middle East Architect, and a list of a few of my articles on the projects’ tab of this website.
While I specialise in architecture journalism, I have experience reporting on an array of topics, such as interior design, culture, literature and art. I’ve also covered more political topics, like the drug trade in Lebanon, which required investigative reporting. My work has addressed issues across the Middle East and North Africa, from Lebanon to Iraq, the UAE to Morocco, acquainting me with the nuances of Arab and African cultures, and allowing me to hone my expertise in writing about various fields from different countries.
If you’re looking for a writer that can cover remote topics from across the Middle East and North Africa, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. My email is ralsammarae3@gmail.com, and I look forward to hearing from you.
